The other day, Cher and I went wine tasting up in Santa Ynez Valley. First, we stopped at the Stolpman tasting room in Los Olivos. Cher is a wine club member, and we picked up a shipment as well as drank some wine. I think my favorite is the L’Avion, even though I rarely drink white wine.
Anyway, after getting nice and toasted, we decided we needed to eat. So, we walked across the street from the tasting room and ordered a sandwich from Panino.
Once we got our sandwich, we hopped into the car (by now we had sobered up since the wait to get our sandwiches was very, very long) and took a short drive to Beckman Vineyards. After a little wine tasting — my fav is the Grenache –and me joining their wine club, we sat down at their picnic area and enjoyed our sandwich.
Wine tasting is totally fun, and relaxing. Maybe next time we’ll rent a house or get a hotel room since it’s no fun to drive (2 hours) home afterwards…and probably not a good idea either!
