Good food can sometimes be hard to come by here in Ventura County, the land of chain restaurants and watered down ethnic food. So, I decided to make a list of places I like to eat at. If you think I’m missing something, please let me know so I can try it out one day or argue why I don’t agree.
Ventura:
It’s in the Sauce BBQ (It’s now closed! I’m so sad, but they have a food truck that parks at Surf Brewery almost every Friday & Saturday night.)
Brooks (Also recently closed. What the hell?!?)
Oxnard:
Sabor (the best fish tacos!)
Downtown Oxnard Taco Crawl (not a restaurant, but something you gotta do!)
Swan Korean BBQ (not the best, but it’s all we got)
Port Hueneme:
Blue Elephant Thai (but now there’s a new owner, so ???)
Camarillo:
Sushi Hamayu (Ask sushi chef if there’s anything special today, and order off the white board menu on the wall.)
Ojai:
